Message are basically "rebuilt" unless you buy new from the Garrett or someone like Turbonetics. I think both Z1 and JWT are remanufacturing stock housings byt bead blasting or maching them to take larger impellers. That is why they want your cores. They are the raw material for the stuff they sell. So if Z1's turbo guy replaces the CHRA's or even the bearings and seals, they should be the same as a replacement set. And who's to say the next set off the shelf is a perfect set?

I am just hoping that they do something so I have a chance at no leaks. BTW, I sent both back even though the D/S was the likely culprit. There appeared to be a very slight oil film on the passenger side but I could not really tell. I would hope they rework them both just on the general principals in consideration fro my having to diagnose and R&R the darn things.

Fortunately, Ohio winters are good times to have the car out of service. And thank god I bought the Direct Lift Pro-Park 7 as a Christmas present for myself....
